Experience Real Florida at Faver-Dykes State Park Campground

If you are looking for a peaceful getaway in a natural Old Florida atmosphere then you might want to check out Faver-Dykes State Park.  This peaceful Florida Park borders the Pellicer River as it winds around East Florida. As we traveled down the LONG LONG dirt road to Faver-Dykes I questioned would we ever reach the campground. Surrounded by woods, and swampy areas I felt like I had stepped back into Real Florida wilderness.

What Is There to Do:

  • Fishing
  • Nature Trail
  • Take a walk along Pellicer River
  • Kayaking
  • Bird Watching
Faver- Dykes State Park is a stop on the Great Florida Birding Trail and also a state designated canoe trail.

The Campground:

The campground itself has just 30 sites that form a loop. The sites are fairly large and located under the beautiful Florida hammock. Each site has water, a picnic table , grill, electric and a fire ring and is semi private.  Each site can hold a 25' to 35' RV. Don't expect to have great internet or cell service. You are really in the wilderness here.  This is truly a get away from the hustle and bustle of ever day life.  You are hiking around the woods in Florida, so yes ticks are present.

The boat ramp is small but good. The fishing on Pellicer Creek is great with trout, flounder and red drums. There are several very nice picnicking areas through out the park.  There is a nice playground area for the kids to play on. The Park Rangers were very friendly and helpful. Ice and Wood can be purchased at the ranger station.   The bathroom facilities were nice and clean.
