DeLeon Springs State Park Tuesday's Travels + LINKY

Living at the Whiteheads Zoo
I can't believe it is already Tuesday this week. My baby has been sick and well I just haven't had a chance to write. You Mama's know how that goes. Nothing like vomit from one side of your living room to the other.  Now that I have throughly grossed you out I'll share a fun family adventure with you.
PhotobucketDeLeon Springs State Park  is truly a lovely place to spend the day with your family.  I had to visit here after hearing about the pancakes.  So, we loaded the family up one morning and headed that way.  The park page is not joking about arriving early.  We went on a week day and still had to wait a couple of hours to get into the restaurant   We were all starving by the time we got in.  The Old Spanish Sugar Mill was worth the wait (or Mama voted it was) . We were able to make our own pancakes right in the middle of our table.  Cool right?

The kids spent some time fishing while we waited.  They made a friend who was fishing with bologna in the shady picnic area. The family invited them to join in and they were more than happy too.  They were quite impressed you could catch  a fish with just bologna.  There is also a swimming area so bring your suit if you'd like to cool off.  Canoe, Kayak and paddle boats are available for rent although we didn't try any you can explore the spring and area more thoroughly if you''d like.
