Living at the Whiteheads Zoo

IMG_6920nEveryone should tube the Ichetucknee just once.  Or at least that is what our family says.  We try to go at least one time each summer, and join friends and family.  From the end of May until early September, tubing down the river is the premier activity in the area. In addition to tubing, visitors can enjoy picnicking, snorkeling, canoeing, swimming, hiking, and wildlife viewing.

Tubes can be picked up from vendors along the way.  Or you can bring your own which is probably a bit more cost effective.  I go down in a boat I'm kind of a chicken and want to be well away or as much as possible if snakes or other critters pass my way.Ichetucknee Springs State Park, Ichetucknee Springs State ParkAll kinds of wildlife in the water and out. It really is a beautiful state park.  Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the entire day.  Picnic area has both tables and grills.  It's a fun family adventure ex specially on a nice hot day.
