Protected by the dark of night, Jaimie Piper runs. But is anywhere safe when Evil is hunting you?

She’s just a twelve year-old girl, bumped around between foster homes and relegated to school classes for challenged kids, those lagging in their test scores or with behavioral issues. But her real problem is that she can sense something the other kids can’t—something dark. Something compelling her to run for her life.

All Crockett Grey wants is to mark the anniversary of his daughter’s death alone.

But when his student Jaimie comes to him, terrified, her need for protection collides with his grief, and a tangled web of bizarre events sends them both spiraling toward destruction.

Crockett’s one hope of getting his life back is to uncover the mysterious secrets of Jaimie’s past and her strange gift. It isn’t long before his discoveries lead him to a darker conspiracy, secrets guarded by the highest seat of power in the world—the Vatican.

Review by ME:

I only received this book to review yesterday and I simply didn't  want to put it down.  Every time I had a minute I was reading intrigued by the different theories to do with the Catholic Church.  When I opened the package and saw the cover I immediately wanted to begin reading.  Lucky for me Spring Break just began, and so I found the time to settle in and read today and soak up some sunshine as well.

Crockett Grey is dealing with the grief from the loss of his daughter when a student needs his help.  Jamie Piper a young girl runs away from her foster home to seek Grey's help. Together a set of bizarre events begin to unravel.  Grey finds himself in quite a mess, and discovers the key to his troubles and the mystery is Jamie.  Grey, and others discover Jamie has a gift.  Many want to use this gift to suit their own agendas.  Read more to see what Jamie uses her gift for good or evil?
Conspiracy theories, Secrets, Demons, the Catholic Church Grey and Jamie find themselves at the Vatican.
Definitely a thriller, this book kept me reading .  From page to page I could not wait to see what would happen next.  You won't be sorry you picked this one up.  I couldn't put it down.
